

Non Pareil
Nonpareil (which means "without equal" in French) is considered the queen of almonds worldwide. It is the most widely cultivated variety in California (the world's largest producer) and the gold standard by which all others are measured.
Key characteristics:
Soft (paper-shell): Its shell is extremely thin and easily cracked, often even by hand.
Attractive appearance: The kernel has an elongated, flat, elliptical shape. Its skin is a very light brown with an orange hue, very uniform and smooth.
High commercial quality due to its thin skin and regular shape; it is a favorite for eating raw and snacking. It has a sweet and mild flavor.
Carmel type
Carmel almond variety is one of the most popular and widely cultivated, originating in California. Although technically the Carmel variety is a specific type, commercially the term "Carmel type" is often used to refer to a group of varieties similar to the Carmel variety.
Key characteristics:
Soft-shell: Its shell is thin and easy to peel, greatly facilitating industrial processing.
Shape and size: The kernel is medium to large in size, with an elongated, slender, and slightly flattened shape.
Appearance: It has a light brown skin with a relatively smooth and uniformly wrinkled surface. It is a very visually appealing almond.
Flavor: It is sweet, mild, and of high quality, making it excellent for both raw consumption and the baking industry.
